The NBA is on a lockout and college basketball is over for now and there are no Olympics or world championships containing basketball, and we no longer have anything to post about. #MLIB

I got a survey on what I thought of my school's basketball team becoming D-I and I jumped on that survey so fast, as if it counted for a grade. #MLIB

I spent my Spring Break in New Orleans. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, the first thing I saw was a TV screen ON the building showing "Minute To Win It" featuring Shannon Brown and Derek Fisher. All of the lobby televisions, the entire week, only played NBA and NCAA games whenever I was down there. Except one time TNT was playing a movie...about basketball. Additionally, one morning a USA Today was thrown at me, and the Sports page happened to land in front of my eyes with NCAA and NBA news on the front page. Oh yeah, and the highlight of my trip was the Hornets vs. Celtics game we attended. MLIB.

I was watching a TED Talk entitled: Birth of a Word, and in it an MIT researcher was showing data gathered from television shows- a tool he was using to analyze common words and the context in which they arise. Then he showed a snapshot of those contexts- Jersey Shore and NBA Basketball. That is my life, and MLIB.

My dad commented on the 4 new penny-sized scars on my kneecaps today, and all I could think was "Finally, 1 of the 6 total is from dance practice and not basketball." MLIB.

Friday, March 11, 2011

I was skimming through a motivational/meditation book, and the first example the author gave of the book's use in practice was of the Chicago Bulls practicing mindfulness meditation before games. MLIB.

I turned the TV on randomly while I surfed the web. It was on TNT, and Bones was playing. They were dissecting the body of a basketball player. MLIB.

Monday, February 21, 2011

I am watching Grey's Anatomy while my phone syncs and within the first segment I heard a patient say "You don't know my son, there are very things more important to him than basketball." And I was all... what could be more important? MLIB.

I turned on the Super Bowl 6 minutes into the game and freaked out that it said 4th on the screen, thinking it meant 4th quarter already. MLIB.

Last night I had a dream that Allen Iverson was speaking and he said 'practice', so I went off imitating his famous rant and then he giggled and hugged me. MLIB.

Today I went up to tell my International Law professor that I could not attend the make-up session on February 6th. She then embraced me and announced to the class that she would be moving the make-up session because I am such a huge Packers fanatic and absolutely under no circumstances can I miss the Super Bowl... I didn't know the Super Bowl is on February 6th. I have a basketball game to manage that day. MLIB.

I was tired of reading articles about Carmelo Anthony and the Nets, so I went to a story: "What to look for: Conference championship games" hoping to read more mid-season predictions about the NBA playoffs. I forgot that the NFL conference championships are going on. Seriously, MLIB.
Soon after the Portland Trailblazers beat the Sacramento Kings in OT, my friend tweeted: "this makes me want to go to portland [link]". Thinking the link was for an NBA.com article or video, I clicked it. It took me to a website about some show called Portlandia. MLIB.

Today I was really jealous upon reading my friend's tweet, "Just got summoned by birdman #brrrr", thinking Chris Anderson summoned her. Please refer to a similar misunderstanding on January 18th. MLIB.
Tonight, I dropped everything after finding out the hotel where the Lakers were staying, drove to the hotel, chased Assistant Coach Frank Hamblen up an elevator, made a scene in front of everyone in the lobby as I tried to get the attention of Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest, came home and pulled an all-nighter because I couldn't fall asleep. MLIB.

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

While doing my daily browsing through a music blog to which I subscribe, I had to pause for 30 seconds to remind myself that Chris Anderson of the Denver Nuggets did not collaborate with Lil Wayne on a new song. MLIB.

I spent my weekend picking up after, buying cookies, wiping sweat, and getting water, for 12 D-3 college basketball boys. I then proceeded to stifle my nausea and pray to/have a conversation with God about how they deserve to win their game. Looking back, I'd say that was a good weekend. MLIB.

Friday, January 14, 2011

I was reading a pop culture blog when I saw the following headline: Jimmy Fallon plays charades with Donald Trump, Nene Leakes and Lil' Jon. I clicked the link thinking there would be 3 videos, one of which would be some humorous clip of Denver Nuggets' Nene spilling water on himself. Instead, it was one video with Jimmy, Trump, Lil' Jon...and a woman named Nene Leakes. MLIB.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

I was reading a Facebook status last night about "the game", and I was really confused because my friend didn't seem like a basketball junkie. She's not. She was talking about the CW TV series. MLIB.

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

Today I was talking to my best friend about what she wants for her birthday and she said, "you already know what's going to make me the most happy on Wednesday." Not knowing what she was talking about, I quickly looked up who her favorite basketball team was playing that day... it was the Warriors. I wondered why the Lakers beating the Warriors would matter to her. She wasn't talking about basketball. MLIB.

The other day in class, my friend asked me how I felt about the slumping Lakers. I told him I was paying more attention to the new look Magic because of it, and after he gave me a confused look, I proceeded to detail him the trades that took place and my opinions on them. After 5 minutes he cut me off to say, "Oh um, I haven't really paid attention to the NBA since the Jordan era. I was just making conversation." MLIB.
Friday while hanging out, someone asked why we were watching Family Guy re-runs and not "the game". Enthusiastically I agreed with him, wanting to see the Knicks/Suns game on ESPN. They changed the channel to the Cotton Bowl. MLIB.
One day I got in a Twitter-fight with someone I go to school with because they acted like they knew my favorite team better than I did. Yesterday I realized I was still friends with him on Facebook and angrily un-friended him. MLIB.

Friday, January 7, 2011

I am a girl, I can't dribble a ball and look elsewhere for more than 2 seconds, but yet I manage a boys basketball team, I have NBA.COM on my Bookmarks Toolbar, and I spend hours every day trying to get a job working for an NBA team. MLIB.
Yesterday I was sitting in class reading an article, when my classmate loudly whispered from behind me- MAVS ARE THE BEST. Everyone around us turned around and stared. MLIB.
The other day my B-Law professor put a quote up on the board by LBJ. I wondered how LeBron James could be so profound. MLIB.
